Thank you for this post. I have been in Masterminds before and they were incredibly helpful in achieving my goals. My mastermind group disbursed long ago and I miss the sharing, caring and accountability of like-minded people.

Something I’ve realized as I get older is how much of an impact the people I surround myself can have on my productivity. Being able to brainstorm, collaborate, and be immediately accountable to others is a big help in turning ideas into projects and projects into finished work.

In reply to Jathan. Hi, Jathan! Thanks for commenting. :) The members of my mastermind group and I were all students in one of Jeff Goins's coaching programs. We decided to create a mastermind group so we could keep each other accountable outside of the coaching program. If you're a member of any kind of writer's meetup or online course, I think that's a great place to look for people who might be interested in forming a mastermind group.

This is so me! I think my friends try to be supportive, but they don’t really understand what blogging is or what it all entails. I don’t have any blogger friends but starting a mastermind group is an amazing idea to help overcome that and remain motivated. I didn’t even realize that so many famous authors had started their own!
